Dreaming of Hand

Seeing a hand in a dream is interpreted with strength, generosity, trust, and support. Because the hand is the limb that a person needs the most. Seeing the right hand in a dream indicates strength, livelihood, earnings, possessions, and blessings. Seeing that one's hand is extended and gaining strength in a dream signifies prevailing over enemies, having one's words listened to, being skilled in one's craft, and being intelligent and clever.

Ja'far al-Sadiq (peace be upon him) said that seeing a hand in a dream is interpreted as follows:

a) Brother,

b) Sister,

c) Friend,

d) Child,

e) Servant and attendant,

f) Strength,

g) Wealth,

h) Guardianship and office,

i) Property and fortune,

j) Evidence, skill, work, and deed…

If a person sees in a dream that another hand touches their own hand, it signifies an increase in what they own, as well as strength and power. The interpretation is the same for merchants and tradespeople. Sometimes, this dream indicates that the person who sees it will have a younger brother born or that they will have a child.

Seeing both hands of a man open in a dream signifies generosity and spending one's wealth in the way of Allah. Seeing that the right hand is made of gold in a dream indicates earnings, authority, and the loss of power. Also, seeing that the right hand is speaking to him and saying 'Well done' indicates a good and abundant livelihood.

Hazrat Ibn-i Sîrîn said: For rulers or those in positions of authority, seeing a long hand in a dream signifies a long life, the power and strength of those under their service, control over the state, much wealth, and an increase in profit. Seeing that one's hand is cut off and separated from the body in a dream indicates the death of one's spouse, a friend, a scribe, a servant, or a beloved relative.

Seeing in a dream that your hand is cut off but you feel no pain or suffering indicates love and affection, and your heart fills with someone's love. Seeing that you place one hand into the other in a dream signifies the gathering of relatives due to a wedding ceremony.

Seeing in a dream that you entwine your hands around the neck of a pious and devout person indicates repentance, guidance, and being granted forgiveness. If a student sees in a dream that they put their hand under their arm and take it out, and that their hand is radiant, it signifies progress in the path of knowledge and achieving their desire. If a state leader sees the same dream, their position increases and their power multiplies.

If the dream is seen by a merchant, it signifies advancement, increased fame, and honesty. Seeing water coming out of one’s hand in a dream is interpreted as wealth and blessings. The two hands signify rank, position, two sons, and authority. Seeing oneself taking and giving something with one’s hands in a dream also indicates good and virtuous deeds. Imam Nablusi (may Allah have mercy on him) said: '- The right hand signifies a son, a father, a friend, or those with whom one maintains companionship. The left hand signifies a spouse, a mother, a sister, a daughter, and a servant. If a person sees in a dream that they have lost one of their hands, it is a sign of losing the person indicated by that hand…'

Seeing that a person in a dream can perform a task strongly with their right hand as well as strongly with their left hand signifies attaining wealth and strength and being victorious over an enemy. Seeing that one's hand is cut but preserved and not separated from oneself indicates attaining a male child or a brother.

Seeing that one's hand is clean, beautiful, and pleasant in a dream signifies the well-being of the father and child or clean property and good earnings.

Sometimes, this dream also indicates being friends and companionable with acquaintances and performing actions suitable to one's condition. Seeing that one's hand is left-handed or seeing a left-handed person in a dream signifies benefit, sustenance, blessing, and ease of livelihood. For after every hardship comes ease.

Just as every night has a day… Seeing that one eats their entire hand or half of it in a dream is a sign of an act one will regret.

“That day, every wrongdoer will bite his own hands in regret…” (Furqan, 27) according to the meaning of the verse, indicates that the person is among the wrongdoers. In a dream, clenching one's hand into a fist and not opening it is interpreted as stinginess. Seeing in a dream that one's hand belongs to a Prophet signifies that God Almighty grants guidance to a people through him. And that person attains goodness and blessing.

Conversely, seeing in a dream that one's hand falls into the hand of a wrongdoer indicates a misdeed or great injustice that will come from the dreamer. If someone sees in a dream that their right hand is longer than their left hand, it is interpreted as being helpful and generous. In brief, hands seen in dreams indicate artisanship and writing since artisans perform their work with their hands.

It is difficult to work without hands.
