He went up to the second floor in the coffeehouse; the fortune-teller woman was dealing with a jinn at the table. He took out thirty-four pairs of black socks. The jinn took one sock and opened it, and let it escape through the window. He shouted, bring my sock.
Reading
His mind is confused. The fortune-teller is one who lies, the jinn is a person who talks emptily; let him not heed them. The black socks are slowly getting free of these people in spring. The sock's going out the window is his not telling his ideas to anyone and his not believing promises; the work of those who call may go on a bit in suspense, but it still comes right. If an opportunity comes his way let him not share it with anyone. There is an event by which he will come out into the light, and strengthening when its time comes.
